Your role:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Web Designer and Developer with strong SEO knowledge to redesign, build, and maintain our website. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of creating visually appealing, user-friendly, and technically optimized websites.
They will be responsible for ensuring our site is fully optimized for search engines, performs well, and is maintained regularly with updates, new pages, and technical fixes.
Your responsibilities:
Website Redesign and Development
- Redesign and rebuild our existing website to improve aesthetics, functionality, and user experience.
- Responsible for full-stack development, including both front-end and back-end architecture.
- Build websites using WordPress or other CMS and development frameworks, based on business needs.
- Develop custom themes, templates, or components as needed, whether on WordPress or alternative platforms.
- Ensure the website is responsive and compatible across all devices and browsers.
SEO Optimization
- Work with the SEO Manager to implement on-page SEO best practices (meta tags, alt text, headers, etc.).
- Technically optimize website speed and performance for better search engine rankings.
- Integrate SEO strategies into content and design.
Website Maintenance
- Regularly update and maintain the website, including adding new pages, making amendments, and fixing bugs.
- Ensure the website is secure and up-to-date, whether using WordPress or another platform.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly.
Collaboration
- Work closely with our team to understand business goals and translate them into effective web solutions.
- Provide training or documentation to internal teams for basic website updates if required.
- Adhere to company policies and compliance standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Your profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Web Designer and Developer (portfolio required).
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and server-side languages such as PHP, Python, or Node.js.
- Experience developing in WordPress and/or other CMS or web frameworks (e.g., Webflow, Drupal, Headless CMS, static site generators).
- Experience with responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
- Familiarity with website performance optimization tools (e.g., caching, image optimization, CDNs).
- Knowledge of website security best practices.
- Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Figma).
- Experience migrating websites between platforms while maintaining SEO integrity.
- Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js) is a bonus.
- Understanding of headless CMS, Jamstack architecture, or modern deployment tools is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Fluent spoken & written English with experience applying it in a work environment on a day-to-day basis.
