Role Title – Your role:

We are seeking a Data Engineer with strong expertise in AWS Glue, Athena, and QuickSight to join our Analytics & Insights team. The primary focus of this role is to develop and maintain the analytics infrastructure and deliver high-quality dashboards that support data-driven decision-making across the organization.

You should be comfortable working within a modern Data Lake architecture and have hands-on experience designing and maintaining ETL pipelines. While experience across the broader AWS analytics stack is valuable, your core strengths should lie in Glue for data processing, Athena for querying, and QuickSight for visualization.

Your responsibilities:

• Design and manage ETL pipelines using AWS Glue to process structured and semi-structured data
• Query and transform large-scale datasets using AWS Athena
• Build and maintain insightful, user-friendly dashboards in QuickSight
• Collaborate with data analysts and business stakeholders to define reporting needs and metrics
• Support the curation and management of datasets within a Data Lake (S3-based) architecture
• Optimize performance and cost of data queries and dashboards
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and security across analytics solutions
• Adhere to company policies and compliance standards at all times.
• Deliver other ad-hoc duties as required.

Your profile:

• Proficient in AWS Glue, Athena, and QuickSight
• Strong SQL skills and experience optimizing large-scale queries
• Experience working with Data Lakes, especially on S3, and managing semi-structured formats like Parquet or JSON
• Solid understanding of ETL concepts and best practices
• Familiar with data modelling techniques (e.g., star/snowflake schemas)
• Ability to work independently in a cross-functional, agile environment

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with Python and AWS Lambda for custom ETL tasks
• Familiarity with AWS Lake Formation or related analytics tools
• Knowledge of version control (Git) and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation

Soft Skills:

• Analytical mindset – Able to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights
• Strong communication – Comfortable explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Collaborative – Works well in cross-functional teams, especially with analysts and business units
